Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to begin their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Questers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect learning which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
